The Alarm Control area defines the Timer and the Start and Stop process.  The Timers are:

The interval times normally refer to when you start the timers; however, by selecting the Top of Hour option the interval times are relative to the top of the hour.  As an example, the 15 minute interval timer specified in the sample will alarm at the quarter hour regardless of when the timers are started.

The Alarm Interval and Message area defines the interval and message for each alarm.  The two alarms specified in the sample are:

1) The first alarm will happen at the beginning of each hour with the message "Time's Up, Check Log".  This can serve as a reminder to write the current Lat, Lon and sea state in the log book.  To easily distinguish this alarm from others, this alarm will be displayed with red and yellow colors.

2) The second alarm will happen at the quarter hour with the message "Time's Up, Check Horizon".  This can serve as a reminder to visually inspect the horizon, rigging, and sails for any change.

The number of alarms, times, messages and colors can be changed as required.
