Two different audio alarms are provided:
The audio alarms will sound continuously as long as the message window is visible.
The spoken message is implemented using Microsoft's speech and voice software. Win XP comes standard with the speech and voice software. With Win 98 and Win 2000 you will need to install the supplied Microsoft speech and voice software.
The standard Microsoft voice software is limited in quality. Better voice software is available from various vendors. For example, AT&T Natural Voices has a reasonable quality for reasonably low price, but requires 600MB of disk space.
The sample shown here indicates that each alarm message will be spoken at the appropriate time while the message also flashes on the computer screen.
