The Polar Plot format displays the boat speed, wind speed, and wind direction plus the predicted boat speed. The predicted boat speed for your boat needs to be provided in a table format. This data of predicted boat speed versus wind speed and wind direction can be obtained from your manufacturer, estimated based on your boat's physical characteristics, or derived by recording information as you use this program. Several predicted tables are included with the program.
The user can overlay performance data from one or two files for detailed comparsion. The performance data can also be displayed in apparent wind or true wind.
The display shown here indicates that the boat is sailing within 88% of its predicted polars. The true wind angle is 50 degrees and the true wind speed is 11.0 kts
