The PortAid program was designed to make your electronic navigation interface simpler and less costly. This program allows you to share comm port NMEA data among several applications without having to add extra hardware comm ports. Normally to share NMEA data between applications a separate hardware comm port is required for each application. PortAid creates software (virtual) comm ports that can be used in place of the normally required hardware comm ports.
The program can also share comm data between computers that are networked together and merge data from multiple comm ports into a single comm port.
